Wall Street giant Guggenheim issues $20 million in tokenized commercial paper on Ethereum
Guggenheim Treasury Services, a subsidiary of Wall Street giant Guggenheim Capital, has entered the blockchain space and issued $20 million worth of tokenized commercial paper on the Ethereum blockchain.
Guggenheim Treasury Services is one of the largest platforms in the field of asset-backed commercial note (ABCP) management. According to the company's data, it has issued and redeemed over $10.3 trillion worth of ABCP in the past 27 years.
According to reports, this product is the first digital version of commercial paper and has received Moody's highest credit rating of P-1. Commercial paper is a short-term unsecured debt instrument used by companies to pay short-term obligations.
This issuance is through Zeconomy's AmpFi The Digital platform is a memory blockchain protocol that provides trading and governance for tokenized securities.
Once issued, these digital commercial bills will be traded on an on chain platform, similar to the way traditional commercial bills are traded in the over-the-counter market - in a divisible form and with faster settlement speeds. Zeconomy CEO Giacinto Cosenza said in a statement.
It is clear from the approval of ETFs and the growth in the tokenization field that there is a high demand for these digital assets
According to data from 21Shares on Dune Analytics, the managed assets of tokenized government securities have grown to $1.9 billion in the past few years. Asset management company BlackRock currently holds the largest on chain securities asset fund, with over $522 million in tokenized securities as of the time of writing this article.
A recent report by decentralized oracle provider Chainlink predicts that the global tokenized asset market may soar to $10 trillion by 2030, driven by institutional adoption, integration of memory blockchain, and regulatory progress.
According to the report, the total value of tokenized assets worldwide is approximately $118.57 billion, with the Ethereum network accounting for 58% of all tokenized assets.
More and more participants are exploring application cases of tokenization. The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) recently completed its pilot project for the US treasury bond bond guarantee network. The project gathered 26 market participants and conducted 100 transactions on the Canton Network using the "digital twins of treasury bond (USTs)".
